Shona Stephenson is a Principal Mortgage Broker at Best Foot Forward Mortgage Solutions, working in partnership with Australian Expat Finance. With eight years in the finance industry and backed by over a decade of established expertise through Best Foot Forward Mortgage Solutions, Shona brings both experience and depth of knowledge across the lending landscape.

She specialises in assisting a broad range of clients — from owner-occupiers and investors through to more complex lending scenarios, including self-employed borrowers, First Home Buyer schemes, family guarantor loans, low-doc lending, commercial lending and Australian expat finance.

Shona is particularly passionate about supporting Australians living abroad. As Co-Founder of THE EXPATRIATE, she provides the expat community with trusted, practical and relevant financial information tailored to their unique circumstances. THE EXPATRIATE is an online community designed to connect Australians overseas with reliable guidance, education and professional support, empowering them to make confident financial decisions.

Originally from Sydney, she now calls Peregian Beach, Shona is also a savvy property investor in her own right, strategically leveraging opportunities within the lucrative Noosa Airbnb market. Her personal investment experience enhances her ability to think commercially and structure loans with both growth and risk in mind.

A lateral thinker and natural problem solver, Shona has access to over 60 lenders across both the residential and commercial lending spaces. This breadth of access enables her to tailor solutions strategically, ensuring each client receives a lending structure aligned with their goals, risk profile and long-term financial strategy.
